At Thame Speakers club, our friendly atmosphere is the place to develop your confidence, communication and leadership skills. It is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide network of public speaking clubs.
At our club, men and women from lots of different backgrounds get together for a great evening, to enjoy speaking in front of an audience.
Guests are always welcome to come and experience an evening for themselves, safe in the knowledge that they aren't expected to speak. If and when they are ready they can join our club and get all of the benefits that being a member brings. Some people join straight away, some come for months before they are ready to join - everyone's different!
We asked our members why they joined, and why they stay, and this is what they said...
"It's a great opportunity to learn, to meet new people and old friends"
"It forces me to stand up, face the fear and present in front of a group"
"The stimulation I get from doing impromptu speaking and from writing speeches"
"Help, advice and comraderie from club members over the years"
"I wouldn't be able to do the job I do now, if it wasn't for the confidence I built through being involved with Thame Speakers"
We meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 7.45 for 8PM. See map below for our venue - Thame Snooker Club, St Andrews Court, Wellington Street, Thame, OX9 3WT. There is parking if you enter the club from Wellington Street, or you can walk through the short lane beside Delphine Art at 27 Upper High Street.
